The Great Caruso Dinner Theater Houston's Only Dinner Theater ONE MO' TIME OPENS FRI, AUGUST 3rd THE LYRIC THEATRE * NEW ORLEANS 1926 "Big" Bertha's Black Vaudeville Troupe is performing. Watch out! New Orlean's Lyric Theater, the Black Vaudeville Mecca of the 1920's, comes alive in this off-Broadway Hit Show! If You Liked AIN'T MISBEHAVIN', This is Your Show. "One Mo' Time" celebrates the musical side of Black Vaudeville Theater--a tradition that includes the Ragtime jazz of Louis Armstrong and the New Orleans Blues. THE STORY: This funny musical revolves around Big Bertha Williams and her Touring Company performing at the Lyric Theater. Company manager, Papa Du has to fill in for some drunk and missing performers and is stuck being a "Black-Face" comedian. There are funny backstage squabbles with the Lyric's cheap and sleazy manager and a secret romance between Papa Doo and Thelma. But the heart of this play are the great dance routines (the BlackBottom, the CakeWalk and the Charleston) and the great songs like "HonkyTonk Town", "Kitchen Man", Big Bertha's raucus, "You've Got the Right Key but the Wrong Keyhole" and many others. THE CAST: includes stars from "Ain't Misbehavin" and some major new talents. Anthony Boggess-Glover, Samantha Cochran, Kelvin Douglas, Aisha Ussery and Donna Wilkerson Stewart.
